Kingman – Mrs. Martha Emma Hadley, 85, widow of Landus Hadley, whose death occurred six weeks ago died at her home near Sylvania, south of Kingman at 2 o’clock Wednesday morning. Born Feb 19, 1861, Mrs. Hadley was a daughter of William and Eleanor Lindley Maris. She was a member by birthright of the Rush Creek Friends Church four miles south of Kingman. She was a member of the Missionary Society of the church. Mrs. Hadley was twice married. Her first husband, Ransom Atkinson died a number of years ago. Her second husband died April 30, of this year (1946). No children were born to either marriage. Mrs. Hadley is survived by three nephews and two nieces. They are Brigadier General Ward Maris of Washington C; Maris Copeland of Frankton, Ind; Glen Maris of Butte, Montana; Mrs. Myrtle Ball of Hammond and Mrs. Gene Roach of Habon, Minn. - kbz
